The American band Case Oats is an indie folk-rock project based in Chicago, formed in 2018 and led by singer-songwriter Casey Gomez Walker. The group moves between americana, folk, and alternative country, with a warm, organic sound that blends acoustic guitars, violin, and subtle electric textures.

The lineup is completed by Max Subar (guitar), Jason Ashworth (bass), Scott Daniel (violin), and Spencer Tweedy on drums —son of Jeff Tweedy, leader of Wilco—, connecting the band to one of the most influential lineages in contemporary American alternative rock.

Their debut album, Last Missouri Exit (Merge Records, 2025), builds a narrative universe centered on memory, growth, and human relationships, with lyrics that portray everyday life in the Midwest with sensitivity, irony, and a deeply personal perspective. The songs, delivered with an apparently serene yet expressive voice, function as small scenes of life: memories, losses, imperfect loyalties, and the need to move forward.
